From Lupita Nyong’o to Angelina Jolie to Brad Pitt: The Best Dressed at the 2014 BAFTA Awards

Last night Hollywood collided with international A-listers on the red carpet for the 2014 EE BAFTA Awards. They all dressed to impress as they gathered to celebrate the year’s biggest cinematic triumphs. These were some of our favorite looks of the evening which also honored Dame Helen Mirren.

This Awards Season, Lupita Nyong’o has transformed herself into a red carpet fashion icon, and last night was no exception! The actress nominated for her supporting role in 12 Years a Slave was simply gorgeous in a green Couture Dior gown. She completed her look with Ana Khouri gold cuffs, and Christian Louboutin shoes.

On the red carpet Emma Thompson, nominated for Saving Mr. Banks, donned a coat, but underneath, she revealed a Maria Grachvogel red dress with a cowl-neckline. Both the color and shape were flattering on the English native.

Star of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Naomie Harris dazzled in this magenta Gucci frock complete with a high-slit and plunging v-neck. Her flawless style was accented with two-toned Christian Louboutin shoes, a Rauwolf bag, and Cartier jewels.

One of the ceremony’s presenters, Uma Thurman went for sophisticated and sexy in a navy blue Atelier Versace creation. Paired with a diamond necklace and studs, her look was minimalist but effectively memorable.

Gillian Anderson, currently starring in BBC Two’s The Fall, was lovely in a blue (three hues of blue to be exact) Balmain haute couture gown from William Vintage. She polished the ensemble with sapphire jewels.

Another gal that went for a sexier look was Angelina Jolie. The actress dared to wear a Saint Laurent suit with a slightly opened blouse, an unmade bowtie, and black pumps. It was downright cool, chic, and effortless.

Jolie’s husband, Brad Pitt, was among the night’s most dapper gentlemen. Pitt opted for a Valentino black tuxedo, with a twist: a collarless shirt. British male model David Gandy looked ever so handsome in a three-piece suit, with a shawl lapel.

Well done, ladies and gentlemen. Up next: the Academy Awards.
