The Primetime Emmy Awards are this weekend, but we’re bringing you a Fashion Preview. We have already shown you previous looks from the drama series nominess, now, it’s time for the funny ladies and gentlemen of television. To give you insight on what they may wear, here are some of their past red carpet looks, including from last year’s Emmys.
Tina Fey, nominated one last time for playing 30 Rock‘s Liz Lemon, glowed in an aubergine Vivienne Westwood strapless gown. To coordinate with the gold and black neckline, she matched metallic shoes and a golden Roger Vivier clutch. She continued to stun with that silhouette in a black laced L’Wren Scott dress. Fey’s co-star, Alec Baldwin, went for the always classic black suit. Seinfeld alumna and last year’s victor, for her turn as Vice President Selina Meyer on Veep, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, has remained faithful to Vera Wang designs. Each number has fit her like a glove, especially the burgundy mermaid dress, which complimented her curves.
Sofia Vergara is known for her Gloria-ous curbs, and accent on and off screen. The Modern Family star always flaunts her amazing figure, whether in color, like the shimmering teal Zuhair Murad gown she wore last year, or in black, like this sparkling robe by newcomer Michael Cinco. Sofia’s on-screen step-children, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and two-time Emmy champ Julie Bowen, also spice up the red carpet. Jesse enjoys playing with his fashion by wearing a plaid tuxedo from Brooks Brothers Black Fleece, paired with a bowtie from his own line, Tie The Knot. Last year, Julie wore one of the night’s best dresses: an electrifying and sexy lime-yellow by Monique L’Huillier.
Previous winners Justin Timberlake and Melissa McCarthy, along with Kristen Wiig, are all nominated for guest acting on Saturday Night Live. Men should follow Justin’s footsteps and play with various looks; he rocks them all. It can be fun and chic like his gray plaid suit or classic black, like this Tom Ford ensemble. Melissa, marveling in a black empire waist dress, co-designs her gowns with Daniela Kurrle aimed at full-figured gals. Another fashion icon in-the-making, Kristen, never shies away from taking a fashion risk. They usually pay off. Her pearl toned Nicholas Kirkwood cocktail dress with pink pumps and the cream colored Balenciaga she donned at last year’s Emmy ceremony, are proof her risks pay off!
Good luck on Sunday! And of course, we’ll bring you a fashion recap right after the Emmys!
