“Veteran of the Year” James Van Der Beek and his Classic Style

Most people probably remember handsome James Van Der Beek from his role as Dawson Leery in the TV show Dawson’s Creek, starring along Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson. Since then he has appeared in several theater productions, as well as TV shows and movies and won an MTV Movie Award, as well as a Teen Choice Award for his role in the football drama Varsity Blues.

For his latest project, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself, he won the Veteran of The Year Award at the 2012 Young Hollywood Awards. In their 14th year, the Young Hollywood Awards honored the best and brightest of the entertainment industry’s rising stars and, in Van Der Beek’s case, one of its old favorites.

Van Der Beek couldn’t have looked sharper at the event, even though he realized last minute that the suit he intended to wear had not been altered, he told RCT reporter, Carly Steel. So he just took one he had already in his closet. Works perfectly, if you ask us.

His outfits usually need to get approved by his wife, Kimberly, but he does have his personal style motto. “Shirt, shoes, pants or otherwise no service.”
