Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Musical Highlights

Some of the hottest musical acts of the moment – Selena Gomez, The Weeknd, and Ellie Goulding – graced the runway this week for 2015’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Taped last month and aired this week, the annual display of lingerie and music is always a treat for not only the eyes but the ears as well. It’s always an incredible honor when an artist is invited to perform and these singers definitely nailed their performances. The three industry veterans graced the stage with their own musical flavor as the VS angels strutted down the catwalk alongside them throughout the night.

The Weeknd, who’s had a huge year with some major hits, opened and closed the evening to a crowd of cheers. He kicked off the fashion show with his latest single, “In the Night,” whose music video also dropped Tuesday night. He also closed the evening with one of the biggest songs of 2015, “Can’t Feel My Face.” Surrounded by smoky effects and plenty of VS angels dancing and singing along to his music, the dark R&B singer brought the heat to the night.

Selena Gomez killed the runway as well with a medley of her songs “Hands to Myself” and “Me and My Girls,” two fitting songs for the night. The songs are derived from her new album, Revival. Selena’s BFF Taylor Swift graced the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show of 2014, so it only seems fitting that she takes her spot in the limelight this year. In the spirit of the fashion show, Selena also wore a flirty and lingerie-like custom gown by Jobile Atelier. Check out her performance:

Last but not least, Ellie Goulding lit up the catwalk with her stage presence. During the “Exotic Butterflies” segment, Ellie matched the dreamy mood of the models and stage with her sultry hit, “Army.” The song comes from her album Delirium, which just released in November.
