It’s been a long wait.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2015 hit the runway this week with some extravagant looks and outstanding musical performances. The annual event dubs itself “the most watched fashion in the world,” and for good reason, too, since this fashion show serves as eye candy for girls and guys alike. Here’s our recap for the night:
The theme for the first part of the night was 70’s hippie chic. Returning angel Behati Prinsloo opened the night with a glamorous, psychedelic outfit. Reminiscent of Woodstock Festival, the outfit radiated love, peace and stars. The theme of fringe, paisley and suede carried this part of the evening as other models followed with equally fantastic outfits.
Next, the models strapped on some butterfly wings and fluttered down the stage in fantastical, colorful beauty. In her VS runway debut, Gigi Hadid morphed into a fairy-like turquoise angel. A well-known face on social media, she enjoyed a warm welcome from the crowd. Ellie Goulding sang to the crowd during this dreamy sequence.
Other “butterflies” graced the stage with glittery, laced ensembles. With glowing smiles, these ladies filled the runway with their fun and feminine looks. One fun look in the lineup was Shanina Shaik’s monarch-inspired garb.
Portrait of An Angel
This segment of the fashion show was a throwback to fancier times, and angels picked up some frilly, royal looks with a decadent edge. Tonight was also the VS debut of Gigi’s well-known BFF, Kendall Jenner. Her parents, Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner, matriarch of the Kardashian clan, were there to capture the memory and cheer her on.
Tapping into some good old red, white and blue, Taylor Hill opened the Pink USA segment with some patriotic stars and stripes as her party anthem to the night. Other models followed with some fun, youthful looks that targets VS Pink’s 15-22 year old demographic. Selena Gomez also performed a medley of her songs to keep the crowd hyped.
Some of the cheekiest looks of the night were Megan Puleri’s out of this world astronaut ensemble and Rachel Hillbert’s flirty, athletic outfit featuring finish line wings.
The snow queens of the night were featured in this next segment. Hope you prepared yourself for some fluffy and cozy ensembles reminiscent of winter wonderlands! The runway was glittered in snowy bliss while angels strutted down the stage. Models Ming Xi and Sharam Diniz were among the models that lit up the night with their glamorous outfits and beaming smiles.
Among the most intricate outfits of the night was worn by new angel, Romee Strijd, who wore a beaded body suit with a pair of spectacular feather wings to boot.
Victoria’s Secret closed off the night with Firework, a fun and colorful segment inspired by fireworks. The Weeknd was there to help open the finale with a bang along with veteran Angel Veteran Lily Aldridge. Lily wore this year’s highly coveted, diamond encrusted Fantasy Bra.
The fashion show ended with all the models dancing down the runway one last time. Goodbye angels and see you next year! PS: For a recap of the night’s musical performances, check out our post right here!
