The biggest names in Hollywood were out in force at the Nokia Theatre at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards, and the celebrity was palpable. Rivaled only in prestige by the Academy Awards, the Emmys commands the longest list of power players of any award show in Hollywood both in talent and in looks. This year the Emmys did not disappoint.
Five incredibly beautiful women caught our eye Sunday night, and for good reason! Not only are they all ravishing, but they wore the most dazzling red carpet apparel, hands down. These are our top picks of the entire star-studded evening.
5. January Jones
Jones channeled some of Betty Draper into her look at the Emmys: her muslin-thin black Zac Posen gown was conservative yet refined, befitting an actress of her incredible caliber. The Mad Men star’s multilayered see-through skirt was truly something to behold. It’s not for everyone, but we gave it the RCT Seal of Approval, considering the company she kept.
4. Morena Baccarin
Baccarin is known for playing characters with a sense of dignity, poise and reserve, but her off-camera exuberance shone through all night. The Homeland mom wore a strapless gray Basil Soda dress with pleated folds down the front and a plunging V-cut which nearly reached her navel. Her natural beauty makes us green with envy.
3. Lucy Liu
Paging Dr. Watson! Liu, known for her roles in the Charlie’s Angels movies and Kill Bill, where she played a refined but deadly crime boss, was no doubt making an appearance to stir up buzz for her upcoming Sherlock Holmes-inspired show Elementary. She literally dazzled us with an incredible Versace sequined dress, like a drop of liquid mercury come to life.
2. Sofia Vergara
Vergara, or Gloria Pritchett to her Modern Family following, was clad in a glimmering aquamarine dress by Zuhair Murad that hugged her trim figure but fanned with a scalloped hem at her feet. Very mermaid-esque. She was as elegant as a dolphin leaping from the surf.
1. Julianne Hough
If Vergara gave us a taste of the ocean, Hough plunged us headfirst into it. The two-time DWTS champion wore a teal Georges Hobeika Couture dress with a feathered, sequined hem that had the appearance of sea foam spun into gossamer. We couldn’t keep our eyes off her radiant beauty all night; she had us truly captivated from the first time she stepped onto the red carpet.
