Over the years, MTV’s Video Music Awards have become a staple for outrageous, eccentric, yet memorable fashion. This year was no exception, but these ladies (and one gentleman) managed to bring edgy and refreshing looks to one of music’s biggest nights.
Fashion risk taker, Macklemore, looked handsome in his mint-gray suit, crisp white shirt, and metallic tie. Mr. Macklemore, along with Ryan Lewis, had plenty to celebrate, taking home three trophies including Best Video with a Social Message for “Can’t Hold Us.”
Songstress Taylor Swift, who won Best Female Video for “I Knew You Were Trouble,” looked classic Hollywood in Herve Leger, along with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a 50’s-esque wavy hair.
For her first ever VMA’s, singer Emeli Sandé hit it out of the ball park with this all black ensemble. She adorned her silk pantsuit with a short-sleeved half jacket, and pumps.
“I Need Your Love” singer and double nominee Ellie Goulding was funky glamour in a spike studded taupe Furne One Amato dress. Ellie completed her look with suede Brian Atwood shoes and Lynn Ban claw rings.
Star of the highly anticipated Divergent Shailene Woodley, wore a black crop top to show off her hot figure and an Emilio Pucci printed mini-skirt. Shailene, who recently trimmed her locks for charity, displayed her new slicked back ‘do.
Crystal Reed from MTV’s Teen Wolf was pure elegance donning a crimson Zac Posen paired with a red Valentino clutch, a bare chest, and Neil Lane jewels.
These ladies–and Macklemore–kept it stylish, simple, and impressive, without overdoing it.
