Keep your eyes and ears peeled because Rihanna’s seventh solo concert tour, the Anti-World Tour, is gearing up for the masses! Kicking off in San Diego next year, the singer-songwriter has plans to hit 60 locations across North America and Europe. The concert was announced in November and tickets are already on sale through Ticketmaster with tickets as low as $35 and up to the hundreds.
The tour is in support of Rihanna’s yet to be released eighth studio album, Anti. Though the album isn’t out in stores yet, it’s has already experienced commercial success with singles “FourFiveSeconds” (which features an interesting acoustic collaboration with Kanye West and Paul McCartney), “Bitch Better Have My Money” and “American Oxygen.”
The Barbados-born singer has already been praised for her artistry and the range of genres incorporated in her songs. Ever since the release of Rated R in 2009, Rihanna’s been trending towards more mature music. She’s left behind the girl-next-door vibe of her previous songs in favor of more provocative, controversial music. But there’s been a gap in her discography since 2012’s Unapologetic. While Rihanna recorded a soundtrack album this year for Home, a children’s animated movie, her personal musical endeavors have been put on hold until now.
Anti’s release date remains a mystery to the public, but expect it to come out before the tour’s February debut. Audiences have been kept on their ties with various sneak peeks of the release throughout the past few months. As for the tour: Travis Scott, The Weeknd and Big Sean are among the artists scheduled to make special appearances. Don’t be surprised if other high-profile artists show up along the way!
It’s been a long time coming for our resident bad girl RiRi’s new album and tour, so fans will want to pick up tickets before they sell out.
