Whether it was the heat or the humidity, the temperature rose notably as Wendie Malick made her way down the red carpet during this year’s 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which honor the media for their outstanding representations of the LGBT community. The Hot in Cleveland star began her career as a model before making the move to stage and screen, appearing in several popular television series, such as Just Shoot Me!, Frasier and Dream On.

For over 25 years, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has worked with news, entertainment and social media to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT people into millions of homes and workplaces every day, ensuring positive images while working to cultivate acceptance, understanding and support. Malick was both excited and proud to be at the awards show in support of Hot in Cleveland’s first nomination for Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBT character), which it would later win in a tie with Drop Dead Diva.

The actress set the red carpet ablaze in a custom strapless cocktail dress from Dolly Couture.  For women who want to emulate her look, Wendie suggests a glass of lemon water to detox your body first thing in the morning.  She also suggests to drink “lots of water during the day, exercise and laugh.”

Malick’s top style tip is to “Know your body, find the stuff that works for you and embrace it.”
