‘High School Musical’ Trilogy Director Kenny Ortega at Actors for Autism’s Reach For The Stars Event

Sporting a crisp white button-down shirt and a charcoal blazer, High School Musical director Kenny Ortega joined celebrity designer and RedCarpetTips host Charlie Lapson on the Actors for Autism red carpet. He kindly spoke about his work, personal style and the amazing foundation–who honored Criminal Minds actor Joe Mantegna during this event.

Ortega was there to support the organization, founded by Dr. Alisa Wolf, which allows autistic children the opportunity to follow their artistic dreams. To them, Kenny said “you just have focus and want it really bad,” adding that in order to achieve a dream it takes “patience, an effort, education and perseverance.”

The iconic film maker, whose work includes Michael Jackson‘s concert film This Is It and the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus, continues to have a full schedule between film, television, theater, and even traveling. Currently he’s filming  Change of Heart and opening a new company.

Now, we moved on to some fashion talk. When Ortega has some down time from his busy schedule, he likes to relax in: “shorts, flip-flops, and a v-neck t-shirt.” Specifically he wears 2(x)ist x-large shirts along with shorts and sandals from Val Surf. All he adds is a bit of sunscreen, and, voilà, he’s “a happy person.”
