Autumn is upon us. The leaves are changing, the days are shortening, but the clothes are just getting better and better. Here are five style essentials for Fall 2015, and how to wear them:
1. Suede Boots
Suede boots are always a good idea for the colder seasons, and this fall is no exception. You can use them to add a little pop of color to your outfit, like the Grey City ankle boots on the left, or to add a little height like the camel-colored Jeffrey Campbell’s on the right (both via Nasty Gal). You can wear them with dresses, skirts, skinny jeans, leggings, or jumpers; The sky is the limit! Whether you’re rocking thigh highs or ankle boots, don’t hesitate to add suede boots to your fall wardrobe! We recommend splurging a little since cheap/imitation suede is as dreadful as no suede at all. Just try to stay out of the rain!
2. Cropped Sweater
For those of you who thought that crop have to go when summer does, fortunately you thought wrong! Cropped sweaters are the perfect way to keep that elongating silhouette without looking out of season. Just pair them with a high-waisted skirt or pants to keep your midsection from freezing to death. A good way to contrast textures is to pair a soft sweater with a leather skirt like the ones above from Nasty Gal (left) & Zara. Since the sweaters tend to be looser make sure whatever you’re wearing on the bottom has a slimmer silhouette so as not to lose your shape.
3. Wide Leg Pants
Wide legged pants are a great way to add sexy length to your legs while still maintaining a look of class. You can dress them up with heels, just make sure they are hemmed to the right length! Both more structured wide leg pants like ones on the left from Zara, and stretchier ones like the ones on the right from Tobi work for multiple occasions. They’re also a great opportunity to tuck in your shirt and show that waist!
4. Asymmetrical Dresses & Skirts
Add a little edge to your fall outfit with an asymmetrical skirt or dress. Whether it’s a high-low dress or a subtly asymmetrical skirt (both examples from H&M), this is a great way to spice up your outfit. Wear an asymmetrical skirt or dress with tights, a scarf, and boots for day look or with heels and a statement necklace for night. Either way you’re bound to turn heads!
5. Poncho-Style Cardigans
Stay warm and stylish with a poncho style cardigan like the two shown above from Tobi & Nasty Gal . They work well over skinny jeans and can be worn with boots, or slip-ons. This is a great way to introduce a pattern or another texture into your outfit. They also look great with a hat and belt!
