GLAAD Hancock Park: Top Chef Invasion was David Chacón Perez‘ first GLAAD event, but he recognized right away the importance of GLAAD’s efforts to support the LGBT community and make its voices heard loud and clear. “GLAAD is a great event… for me to get involved with,” he said.

The Venezuelan producer and artistic director wrote short commercials for Galavisión, directed reality shows, such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Mira Quién Baila, and currently directs Grachi for Nickelodeon Latin America.

Luckily for Perez, who refers to himself as a bad cook and who prefers to go to restaurants, the event featured various tasting stations from high end restaurants in Los Angeles, along with a cook-off of former Top Chef contestants and a silent auction. For his red carpet outfit he got a little help from the Miami based designer, Nicolas Felizola. “He is always trying to do the best for me,” Perez said.
