The Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City rolled out the red carpet for the 2014 annual Met Gala. The event is a fundraiser for the museum’s Costume Institute as well as a celebration for the institute’s fashion exhibit. It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift made our list. The seven-time Grammy winner looked flawless in a pale pink Oscar de la Renta satin gown which she paired with her signature red lips. Her dress was lightly embedded with a gold print which complimented its pale color. The country music star finished her look with soft curls that effortlessly pulled her look together.
Of course, Tay’s look would not be complete without longtime BFF, Selena Gomez by her side. The Slow Down singer sported a pop of color with a bold fuchsia lipstick and statement silver earrings. She took her look to the next level with her daring, plunging neckline. Her look was completed with a classic up’do.
Fashion icon Rihanna had all eyes on her on the red carpet as she donned a two-piece crop top ensemble. The “Stay” singer showed off her toned figure in a white Stella McCartney dress embellished with mesh detailing at the neckline. Her trendy style was finished off with Jacob & Co. and Dionea Orcini jewelry. Always flawless, the pop star sported a chic and messy up ‘do to complete the look.
Kendall Jenner attended the event with older sister Kim Kardashian and fiancé, Kanye West. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star also took over the red carpet wearing a neutral pale gown, designed by Topshop. The gown gracefully hugged her curves while creating a mermaid-like silhouette. Her look was put together with Chopard jewelry and Tabitha Simmons heels. Her hourglass figure shun through the tight fitting dress.
Gossip Girl star Blake Lively went for a more old Hollywood look as she paired a bold pink lipstick with retro waves at the Gala. The actress went with Gucci for the night and sported a blush colored silk chiffon dress. While the dress was gorgeous, the flowing material draping from Lively’s shoulders was the true showstopper. She finished off her look with arm candy Ryan Reynolds by her side on the red carpet.
Star of Mad Men, Jessica Paré, looked fun and playful at the event with a monochrome print Michael Kors gown. The floral black and white print went perfect with the white tie theme of the event.
