Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong’o, & Bellamy Young Round Up This Week’s Best Dressed

The Oscars are only a week away, which means Awards Season has been in full bloom and filled with stylish red carpets. This past week was no different as The 45th Annual NAACP Image Awards and the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards were held. We’re bringing you the best looks from both ceremonies.

Lupita Nyong’o is still reigning as the red carpet’s Rookie of the Year. Every gown she wears has been a showstopper, her plunging Givenchy number was no exception at the NAACP Image Awards. The burnt orange dress was paired with matching shoes and a clutch from the same designer. Nyong’o, who was crowned Best Supporting Actress for her debut work in 12 Years a Slave, accessorized with gold cuffs and earrings from H. Stern.

Fellow Best Supporting Actress nominee, Naomie Harris dazzled in a gold Valentino. The intricate design of the ensemble proved to be beautiful enough to stand alone, with only minimal H. Stern jewelry, Jimmy Choo shoes, and a Rauwolf bag. Her Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom co-star, Idris Elba, was one of the night’s most handsome men in a peak lapel, single-button black tuxedo.

The lovely ladies from Scandal, which took home the trophy for Outstanding Drama Series, wore each other’s complementary colors. Bellamy Young, who plays First Lady Mellie Grant, wore a strapless, red David Meister dress. Young was the right amount of sexy and retro-Hollywood with smokey eyes and side-swept hair.

Darby Stanchfield opted for an emerald Carolina Herrera gown paired with a Judith Leiber clutch and jewels from H. Stern. The green hue complemented her hair color as well as fellow Scandal actress Young’s dress.

Over at The Costume Designers Guild Awards two ladies–Amy Adams and Mindy Kalingwere our favorite picks, who happened to shine in blue.

American Hustle star, Adams, honored with the Lacoste Spotlight Award, wowed in a teal, long-sleeved 70’s gown. While Kaling, creator and star of The Mindy Project, wore a
