Activist Sophia Bush likes to keep it simple

Sophia Bush is mostly known from her role as Brooke Davis in the TV show One Tree Hill and movies such as John Tucker Must Die and The Hitcher for which she won three Teen Choice Awards in the categories Movie Actress and Movie Breakout. She is also actively involved in political, environmental, as well as human-rights issues, supporting several non-profit organizations and raising awareness through social media and her blog.

To honor her efforts she won the Bing Philanthropy Award at the 2012 Young Hollywood Awards, which act as the premiere destination for honoring the entertainment industry’s brightest crop of rising stars. In its 14th year, the ceremony celebrated the best emerging actors, directors and entertainers in Hollywood, recognizing their work and shining light on names to remember.

For the award show, she wore a stunning Herve Leger dress that she combined with a black cherry lips clutch by Lulu Guinness. Her secret beauty tip is to wear sunscreen everyday. “The most important thing is to protect your skin,” Bush tells RCT reporter, Carly Steel. “Because when you take care of it, makeup is easy.” Her personal style motto is “Keep it simple. Wash your face, wear sunscreen, don’t take yourself too seriously.”
